Poem by Lane Roberts, Fairbanks, Alaska

Fantome!

Tallship glory forever is your name,
Your mighty wooden stories towered over sea.
Great was your heritage, from birth unto your death;
Your memory will not be forgotten, in all the years I have left!

Mighty masted maiden, you were the best chance they had,
True to your breed, you let your memory stand.
Many will adore you, but few will ever know,
Why it was we loved you so!

Your murder was tragedy, your life a perfect star,
But now you join that great and grand, glassy blue beyond;
Heaven will adore you, and the crew that fought so well.
To save the great white Fantome, that Mitch sent through hell!

Tallship glory forever is your name,
Great steel behemoth, forget not your fame.
May all who knew you, and your mighty crew,
Never forget that Fantome, will always prove true.
